Usage Policy

#1. Purpose and Scope

1.1This Usage Policy sets out the conduct and content that are not allowed on the Services, as defined in the Terms of Service. It forms part of the Terms of Service and applies to all Users.

1.2It applies to every part of the Services, including every server where Vertx is used, support tickets and their forms and files, conversations with Vex, links, the website and the Community Server.

#2. Illegal Activity

2.1You may not use the Services to carry out, promote, facilitate or request any illegal activity, including selling or distributing illegal goods, controlled substances, weapons or stolen data.

#3. Harassment, Hate and Threats

3.1You may not harass, bully, intimidate, stalk or threaten anyone.

3.2You may not engage in hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age or any other protected characteristic.

3.3You may not encourage, incite or glorify violence against any person or group, or promote violent extremist or terrorist organisations.

#4. Harmful and Explicit Content

4.1You may not share sexually explicit material, pornography, or graphically violent, gory or shocking content.

4.2Any content that sexualises minors, and any attempt to groom or exploit a minor, is strictly prohibited. It will lead to immediate and permanent removal from the Services and will be reported to the authorities.

4.3You may not share content that promotes, encourages or gives instructions for self-harm or suicide. People seeking help with these matters will not be penalised and will be directed to appropriate support.

#5. Fraud, Impersonation and Deception

5.1You may not run scams, phishing or fraudulent schemes, or try to obtain anyone's login details, payment or personal data by deception.

5.2You may not impersonate Vertx, its staff or any other person or organisation, or misrepresent your connection with them.

#6. Security and Service Integrity

6.1You may not distribute malware, viruses or other malicious code.

6.2You may not try to gain unauthorised access to the Services, other accounts or related systems, or probe, scan or test their vulnerabilities without our written permission.

6.3You may not disrupt, overload or impair the Services, get around rate limits, access controls or moderation, or use automated means to access, scrape or interact with the Services unless we have expressly allowed it.

6.4You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble any part of the Services, except where the law expressly allows it.

#7. Spam and Unsolicited Messages

7.1You may not send spam, repetitive or unsolicited messages, mass mentions or unsolicited advertising, including by direct message.

#8. Privacy and Intellectual Property

8.1You may not collect, share or publish anyone's personal information or private conversations without their consent.

8.2You may not share content that infringes any copyright, trademark or other intellectual property right.

8.3If you manage a server that uses Vertx, you may not configure or use it to collect members' personal data beyond its intended features, or to break these Policies or Discord's policies.

#9. Artificial Intelligence Features

9.1You may not try to manipulate, deceive or get around the safeguards of Vex or any automated system, including by telling it to ignore its rules.

9.2You may not use Vex to create content that breaks this Usage Policy, or present Vex's answers as official statements from Vertx.

#10. Account Integrity

10.1You may not create or use multiple accounts to get around the Policies, limits or any enforcement action.

10.2Evading any suspension, timeout, removal or ban will result in a permanent ban of all related accounts from the Services.

#11. Enforcement

11.1We may take any action we consider appropriate in response to a breach of this Usage Policy, including removing content, issuing warnings, applying temporary restrictions, suspending or permanently banning access, and reporting to the authorities.

11.2We decide the response based on how serious the breach is and any previous breaches. We may also act on conduct that harms Users, Vertx or the Services even if it is not specifically described in this Usage Policy.

#12. Reporting and Appeals

12.1You can report breaches through a support ticket in the Community Server.

12.2You can contest enforcement actions as described in Section 11 of the Terms of Service.

#13. Changes

13.1We may update this Usage Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced as described in Section 17 of the Terms of Service.
